Collecting Reviews for Past Leases Before May 2026

Invite eligible tenants to review past Alcove leases that ended before automatic review invitations began (May 2026).

For leases ending on or before May 24, 2026, tenants are not automatically invited to write a review.

To collect reviews for these past leases, you will need to manually send a review invitation from your Tenant Reviews page. This may include former tenants, or current tenants who are still living in the home under a renewed lease. Once invited, eligible tenants will have until May 2027 to complete their review.

How to invite a tenant

  1. Go to the Tenant Reviews page in your homeowner portal.
  2. Click Manage Review Requests.
  3. Find the tenant lease marked Ready to Invite.
  4. Click Send Invite.
  5. Add an optional personalized note and send the invitation.

The tenant will receive an email prompting them to submit a review. No further action is needed until the review is submitted.

What happens if the tenant is still living in the home?

A tenant may still be eligible to review a past lease even if they are currently living in the home under a renewed lease.

If the tenant’s current lease later becomes eligible for review, they can submit a newer review. If that newer review is for the same bedroom, it will automatically un-feature the existing review, and you will be notified and have the option to featured the latest review instead. 

What happens after a review is submitted?

Submitted reviews will appear in your Tenant Reviews table.

Reviews submitted by your tenants are not automatically published to your listings. You can choose whether to feature the public review on your listing.

Any private feedback submitted by the tenant is only visible to you and is never shown publicly.
