What if I lose my Bedroom Key?

Upon move-in, all tenants receive a front door code. Some tenants will have a keyless bedroom lock (access code only, no key provided) and some tenants will have a keyed bedroom lock (physical key provided upon move in, no access code)

If you were issued a physical bedroom key at move-in and it is lost or misplaced, replacement is the tenant’s responsibility.

Alcove and the landlord do not provide free replacement keys.

Urgent/Emergency Access Needs

If immediate access is needed, call a trusted locksmith company to gain access to your home/room. A list of locksmiths available in each Alcove market are provided below. Alcove does not reimburse tenants for locksmith expenses due to lost or misplaced keys.

Non-Urgent Access Needs

Submit a support ticket through your Alcove Support Portal. We will review the request within 48 hours and schedule a field technician to inspect the lock and rekey if required. Standard lockout or Alcove vendor visits are subject to a $50 service charge, and additional rekeying costs may apply if required.

All keys and access devices (including bedroom keys, garage remotes, mail keys, fobs, parking passes, etc.) must be returned at move-out.

Failure to return issued keys may result in rekeying charges deducted from your security deposit by the landlord.
