Are service and Emotional Support Animals (ESA) allowed?

Alcove welcomes both service animals and emotional support animals (ESAs) in compliance with all applicable fair housing and disability laws.

Yes. Applicants are required to disclose and register all service animals or ESA during the application process on Alcove's platform, and provide all required documentation (e.g., a healthcare provider’s letter for ESAs-full required documentation can be found here). While landlords may review these requests for approval, they cannot unreasonably deny them solely because a home is listed as not pet-friendly.

Because our homes are fully shared, roommates may offer feedback if concerns arise, and the landlord may strive to address these issues through reasonable accommodations for all parties.

If you have any questions or need assistance regarding service animals or ESAs, please contact us at support@alcoverooms.com for guidance.

Please note, if you are already residing in a property without an ESA or Service Animal, all paperwork and documentation must be uploaded to your account prior to bringing the animal on the property.
