How Do I Move In on the First Day of My Lease?

We’re excited to welcome you to your new home! Below is everything you need to know about what to expect leading up to and on the first day of your lease.

Before Your Lease Start Date

1. “Alcove Move In” Email (Sent ~3 Days Before Your Lease Starts)
This email provides an overview of the move-in process, including what to expect on your lease start date and general guidance to help you prepare.

2. Move-In Details & Checklist Email (Sent 1–3 Days Before Your Lease Starts)
These follow-up emails include:

  • Your Move-In Checklist

  • Specific access information for the home

  • Photos of your bedroom at the time of move-in

  • Notes regarding any ongoing or scheduled repairs in the home (if applicable)

We recommend reviewing both emails carefully prior to your move-in day.

Accessing the Home on your Lease Start Date

Your access codes will be available in your Alcove portal starting at 9:00 am on the day your lease starts. You can move in any time on or after your lease start date once your access codes are active.

Each tenant is assigned unique access codes for both the front door and their individual bedroom. No two tenants in the home share the same front door code or bedroom door code.

To review your access codes, please follow these steps*: 

1. Login to your Alcove portal 

2. Then, click 'My Alcove'

3.Choose 'Access & Resident Info' from the list on the left-hand side.
