Tenant Lease Renewal Process
Tenants in good standing with their landlord and Alcove are eligible to renew their lease starting 90 days from their lease end date.
Renewal applications open 90 days before your lease end date. During this time, Alcove's Tenant Support team will reach out by email, phone, and text message to discuss your renewal plans and answer any questions. Please ensure all contact information is accurate and update to date in your Alcove portal here to ensure you receive information on renewing your lease
Tenants can log into their Alcove Portal and submit interest in renewing lease at any time. Additional information on the lease renewal process is also sent to tenants via email starting 90 days from their lease end date
To submit your interest in renewing your lease, click the "I want to renew" button on the Manage Lease page and follow the prompts.


After that, a renewal offer with your landlord's current pricing for your bedroom will be sent to your portal so you can submit an application. To submit an application, click the "Apply for Renewal" button, select your lease length, and submit your application. If your landlord approves your application, you'll be notified and directed to sign and finalize your lease agreement.

Renewal Process Timeline
- 90 days before lease end:Renewal applications become available and Alcove begins renewal outreach.
- 60 days before lease end: If you have signed a lease renewal, your bedroom will be listed for new applicants on our website and other rental websites.
- If a new applicant applies for your room: You'll receive a one-time notification, and your room will be reserved for 48 hours, giving you priority to submit a renewal application. After that, leases are offered on a first-come, first-served basis, and your renewal is not guaranteed.
Renewal Eligibility
All renewal offers are subject to landlord approval. To be eligible for renewal, tenants must be in good financial standing with all invoices and late fees paid, have no outstanding lease violations, and not have a history of two or more late or delinquent rent payments.
Additional Information
Renewing tenants are not charged another application fee, move-in fee, or security deposit. Your renewal offer will include your new total rent payment and payment schedule before you sign your lease.
