How do I use the Gender Filter on the website?

What is the gender filter? How is it used in the search process?

On one of the filters in the listing page, you are able to specify a gender and this filters for the gender of current roommates. You are able to change this filter anytime to view the gender demographic of  Alcove homes, even after you apply and sign a lease. 

This acts as a search filter for roommate gender, not as a gender preference while you are living in an Alcove home. When you are living in an Alcove home, you have the opportunity to provide feedback, such as age and gender preferences, which is taken into account as part of the incoming applicant's approval process.
