I'm an active duty military member and have been called in for duty. What happens to my lease?

Any tenant that is enlisted, drafted, or commissioned and on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces is eligible to terminate their lease without penalty.

In order to proceed, you must submit a lease termination request in the Alcove Resolution Center and include copy of your military orders, such as permanent change-of-station orders, call-up orders, or deployment orders or written notification from your commanding officer in the "Evidence" section. Once your request is received by your landlord, the final termination documentation will be available for signing for you and your landlord. After you move out has been scheduled and completed, your security deposit will be returned within 30 days of your lease termination date by your landlord, less lawful deductions, as well as any prorated rent already paid to Alcove.
