What does it mean for an Alcove vendor to be placed on a "Probation Period"?

What is a Probation Period with Alcove?

A Probation Period is defined as a set period of time where an Alcove vendor is limited to the type of services they can claim. A vendor on probation usually results from one of the following situations:

  • Failure to adhere to the Late Form Submission Policy
  • Failure to adhere to Last Minute Drop Service Policy
  • Failure to adhere to training protocols and standard operating procedures
  • Failure to communicate service needs or updates to Alcove

How does the probation period work?

When a vendor is placed on a probation period, Alcove is monitoring all communication and service form submissions with the vendor. Alcove will discuss with the vendor a specific set time that the probation period will last for. This will be determined by the severity of the situation and the goals of the vendors.

During the probation period, Alcove might ask the vendor to re-train on certain services via Ed App or a live training. These will be mandatory in order to be released from the probation period. Alcove will discuss with the vendor any other measures that could temporarily be put in place to ensure that the vendor is working towards resolving their goals. These can include check ins with the Alcove Vendor Support team, extra photo evidence of services, etc.

Failure to resolve the specified situation during the probation period can result in termination from Alcove Marketplace.

Will a vendor always be placed on a probation period prior to termination with Alcove?

No, depending on the situation a vendor can be terminated from the Alcove Marketplace without a probation period. While this is not Alcove's preferences, we also want to ensure that our applicants, tenants and landlords are receiving the highest quality work in a safe environment at all times.
