What are my options if I want to sell my home that has Alcove tenants?

Selling your home with Alcove tenants

If you're looking to sell your home that currently has Alcove tenants, you have three options:

1. Sell the home with the tenants in place

  • This is the most popular option, as you will be selling a cash-flowing asset (in most cases with above-market returns).
  • By default, the lease agreement does not need to be modified with the tenants.
This option will mean the new owner assumes the existing tenants and the lease terms.

2. Buy-out the tenant(s)
  • If you prefer to sell your home without tenants, you can contact Alcove partner support.
  • We will help facilitate the discussion with the tenant and offer assistance in relocating them to another Alcove property.
  • Once the negotiations are completed, Alcove will prepare a separate agreement to terminate the lease for you and your tenants, releasing you from any further responsibilities.
This option allows you to sell your home unoccupied while ensuring compliance with your lease agreement.

3. Wait until the last lease ends
  • If you're not in a rush to sell, you can wait until the current lease with the Alcove tenants ends.
  • Once the lease is up, you can list your home for sale without any tenants in place.

This option allows you to sell your home on your own timeline without the need to navigate tenant-related matters.
