What Furniture is Included in Alcove Homes?

Landlords are required to provide common area furniture.

Common Area Furniture (Required)

All homes listed on Alcove include landlord-provided common area furniture.

At minimum, this typically includes:

  • A couch

  • A coffee table or side tables

  • A kitchen or dining table

These furnishings must remain in the common areas unless otherwise approved by both the landlord and all housemates.

Tenants are welcome to bring additional shared furniture; however, landlord-provided items may not be removed, stored, or relocated without written approval from the landlord.

Bedroom Furniture (Varies by Property)

Landlords are not required to furnish individual bedrooms.

Most tenants should plan to provide their own:

  • Bed and mattress

  • Desk and/or dresser

  • Bedroom décor

However, some landlords choose to furnish certain bedrooms. Homes that have furnished bedrooms will be labeled with a "Furnished Bedrooms" tag in the top of the listing

To confirm whether a bedroom is furnished:

  • Review the home’s listing carefully before applying and check for the "Furnished Bedrooms" tag

  • Check the bedroom description and photos.

If a landlord is furnishing a bedroom and you prefer to use your own furniture*:

  • Before signing: Contact the Sales Team to inquire whether removal is possible.

  • After signing: Submit a support ticket in your Alcove Portal to request landlord approval.

*Furniture removal is not guaranteed and is subject to landlord approval.

Other Items Tenants Should Plan to Bring

Tenants should also plan to provide their own:

  • Kitchen utensils and cookware

  • Bathroom supplies

  • Bedroom linens

Before move-in, we encourage incoming tenants to coordinate with future housemates to determine what items may be shared and what will need to be purchased individually.
