2. Can I withhold rent because of a maintenance issue?

No, withholding rent due to maintenance issues is a violation of your lease agreement. Even if you are experiencing ongoing maintenance issues, rent must still be paid on time.


3. What happens if I withhold rent?

If you do not pay rent by the due date:

  1. Late Fees: A 5% late fee will be applied to your account if rent is not paid within 5 days of the due date
  2. Late Rent Process: Rent payments not made within 10 days of the due date will trigger the delinquent rent process, which may include additional legal or financial consequences.
