What should I do if my bank or payment method blocks my rent payment?
Banks and credit card providers sometimes block charges they believe may be fraudulen, including recurring rent payments. If your rent payment is blocked, please follow the steps below as soon as possible to avoid late fees or delinquency.
- Contact your financial institution: Call your bank or credit card provider and ask them to remove any fraud blocks or restrictions on charged from Alcove or Living Lab. Be sure to confirm that future recurring charges will be approved
- Re-authorize your payment method in your Alcove portal: Once your bank confirms that any block has been lifted or removed:
- Login to your Alcove portal here
- Remove your current payment method which was previously blocked and save your changes
- Re-enter the exact same payment exact payment method details
- Save your updated information
This action “re-authorizes” the payment method and helps prevent future blocks on rent charges. Once this reauthorization is completed, email support@alcoverooms.com to rerun your payment.
Blocked or declined payments must be resolved promptly. Any unpaid balances that are not paid in a timely manner will be subject to Alcove’s late and delinquent rent policy as outlined in your lease agreement.
If you have any questions or need further assistance with your blocked payment method, please email support@alcoverooms.com.
